Royce is Lussurias nephew and has been living with him since he was about 10 years old. His mother was killed by a Mafia raid in his hometown. So Lussuria decided to take him in. And while growing up with Lussuria (in the Varia base in Japan) he has developed a motherly instinct. And became a good friend of Kanas. And being in Lussurias care he has learned all of his deadly techniques which makes him well qualified for the role as Kanas Sun Guardian. Which makes Kana happy that she knows at least one of her Guardians.
